Early runners at the Delco RRC water stop

Delco RRC members and friends managed Water Stop #9 at the 2021 Philadelphia Marathon. Dozens of club volunteers gathered pre-dawn at our spot on Kelly Drive, just north of Fountain Green, to hand out thousands of cups of water to the runners, who passed the stop at approximately miles 16 and 24. Club member Bill McGurk coordinated our volunteer efforts, while his wife, Janet Smith, made sure everyone had food and warm drinks through the day. This marked several continuous decades of club service to the race.
